Dictionary Definition: irony involving a situation in which actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended, so that the outcome is contrary to what was expected.

Activity: 


You will have twenty minute circles to discuss change and the use of satire in A Modest Proposal.
In addition to the break halfway through, you will be allowed to pass sticky notes to your partner during the seminar.  If you think there are any questions or examples of textual evidence that should be used write it down and pass your partner the note.

Remember, you need to ask a question, respond to a question, and use textual evidence.
